isofish
Hi all just a quick report went out around the canyons today off port hacking , it was abit choppy and blowy in the morning and we were thinking twice about going out but we kept pushing out towards the horizon, as the day went on the seas got better. We trawled from the shelf out to the canyons , we got a couple of stripes but no yft. We hooked up a marlin which was a unreal to see but he spat the hooks after a couple of big head shakes, it was a stripe marlin around 50-60kgs. We had a great day but no yft. isofish
Yes it was frustrating especially when there was so much bird activity and bait in the water, but that's tuna fishing you have to be at the right spot at the right time. I heard on the radio a few boats had them busting up around the boat.
REEF MAGIC CHARTERS
Yeah we were out both days.. managed yellowfin & albies on Saturday but Sunday was a totally different story. Radio was dead quiet & we only heard a few marlin hooked & lost & mates boat hooked something big but got bust off somehow! The wide edge has pushed right in & was roaring to the south at 3 knots. Anyone catch any yellowfin? Cheers Damo
fishy
No fin for us. Managed a small Mako whilst cubing. Found the bait and birds bombing in 200fa just over the shelf inside the southern canyons. Had bait showers but did not see a tuna. JB canyons look good on rip charts.
