Stapo
Well done on the worms. Can't catch them myself too slow. The whiting are a bit hit and miss on the beach at the moment, they are there one day gone the next. Keep the worms for another day.

barberonhigh
Hey stapo I use to think the same until I learned the most important thing when catching worms is to wait until they arch their back, so no need to be quick if u know what I mean just need to know when to close the pliers around their neck. Stapo
Thanks mate, might give it a go again this summer. I did see the pro working the beach one day and he was pulling four worms as the wave was receding, didn't even pause much to tease the worm out of the hole. Looked like he was just picking them up off the sand. I might be stretching that one a bit but he did make it look very easy. I suppose he has to catch hundreds a day to make a living. He must have felt sorry for me because he gave me some of his smaller ones. Ha Cheers Steve.

bretto101
what do you look for when worming ? or are they always there ? cheers
barberonhigh
They are always there, but sometimes they don't show up on the surface. First step is to wave ur stinky bait bag as the wave retrieves and then look for heads popping up and forming a v shape . Watch these video and if u need more help let me know. fisho.sid
i've tried catching worms for 2 hrs while being trained by an older experienced fisho. Came up with a lobstered face that evening from the sun burnt and no worms or fish to show for All good fun though
barberonhigh
Worming is like fishing sometimes ,one day u get 20 worms , another day none, some beaches have very little or no worms at all, so it's good to try different spots, I tried north entrance beach over 30 times last year only one worm one day, then went to budgewoi beach same day and had 20 worms in 2 hours, just keep trying ,when u start getting em , you don't wanna go fishing as much you wanna go worming. Cheyne_r
When they are fresh (alive) slide your thumb and finger down them to remove the slime, then roll them in dry sand. They will freeze ok like that.
barberonhigh
We caught some yesterday afternoon , put them in dry sand in plastic container, buried them into sand , went again this afternoon and they were alive and happy.lol
Catchin Jack
I've used metho on them and only have them in it for approx 15 seconds, into freezer and work a treat next time around.
