  1. Thanks a lot 53 , some great info . Hope to write up on how I go when the time comes.
  2. Hi all I have a trip planned for Norooma in early March , I have never been there before so I was wondering if anyone has any advice on locations and species caught there that time of year. I will be taking my boat but because my mate gets sea sick at the drop of a hat ill have to do all my fishing in enclosed water. Thanks Gaz.
  3. Big remora = big host fish out there somewhere
  4. Great catch.. that nice nostalgic 20lb mark sounds heaps better than 9.07kg as well. Special fish mate well done
  5. Perfect form of transport.. up in the air away from roads and traffic. Would have made sense to expand its coverage area instead of wasting money re inventing the tram
  6. Thats a front steer boat isnt it ? I had one called a Snipe mk2 . I had a checkerplate floor which I still have but I chopped a piece out to use on something else. It still may be ok for a template I guess. it was in the boat when I bought it but I found it made the floor to high when u were sitting down so I took it out.

    Urgent help!

The last time my cable started seizing up I removed the cable from the the steering box and used a plastic bottle top as a funnel and sealed it around the cable with bluetack and filled it with silicon oil over night until the oil was leaking out the motor end. Runs like brand new and has been perfect for about 3 years.

Maybe try Cedray .. they are on Silverway rd Silverwater.
  9. Really appreciate the report and info guys. Thanks
  10. I also think they may be filled with an inert gas to keep them pressured and water proof.
  11. I guess u will get the deep cycle debate.. stay tuned.
  12. Has anyone ever tried using an anode on a trailer ?
  13. Hope the swivel mounts on the Humminbird higher end units are made better then their lower end ones , they are cheap and nasty
  14. I remember being about 5mile out from the mouth of the Hawkesbury in a 15 foot Bermuda cuddy and watching a storm further out to sea heading south , thinking we dodged a bullet and missed It we fished on only to realise 20 or so minutes later it had circled around back over land and coming straight towards us from the Hawkesbury area . In a massive panic bringing in lines and anchor we forgot a line which was now heavily wrapped around the prop and stalling the motor... luckily a minute or so in reverse freed it enough to get the motor to run in forward and we were on our way into shore and through this mofo storm . We were pretty calm until we had forty foot boats passing us heading back to land, we then suddenly felt very very small out there in our boat. End result we got back to calmer water to ride it out, and the Bermuda handled the conditions beautifully thank god. Thankfully we have better technology these days to monitor the weather better .
  15. Thanks for all the updates cluster , its good to hear how things are progressing.
  16. If not using glass id go poly carb( lexon) - it can scratch easy but it will never crack , and u can use silicon that is recommended for aquariums if you dont want to make a gasket.
  17. Nevermind Nelson Bay , just spent a week up there and it was totally dead as well.
  18. Cool thanks. Ill just blank it off for now as I dont need it.

    Boat advice

Gorilla and Huey have covered it I think . Cant beat a quality glass boat as long as u can tow it , launch it and store it plus afford the little extra fuel it will meet your needs . Keep in mind you will have to go up a notch in HP to give you the power u may like and also a tad up in size to give you the internal space of an aluminum boat.
  20. What is this hose for ? Sent from my GT-I9305T using Tapatalk
  21. Lol.. hope so. By the way the ss base plate and pump housing was in perfect condition , its built like a brick outhouse so if I keep the maintenance up it should last a lifetime. I did have a question I will ask here rather then open another thread, its in regard to a rubber hose leaving the leg with in my case is cut off about 3inches above the gearbox housing. Ill take a pic to post up. Thanks Gaz
