We are coming up to Sydney for the weekend and staying in darling harbour. Can you fish there? If not, where's closest?

Got my spinning gear and my jewie rod (yet to be tested) so keen to get a line in.

Not sure if you can fish there. But you could try Pier 2.

Pier 2 is good, The side next to luna park is very snag heavy... and the current through there is very strong. Also - I wouldn't eat anything you catch down there!

I have been told by a ranger in darling harbour that fishing is definantly not allowed. At the time I was watching a couple of kilo plus bream mooching around in front of me when a couple of fish I can only guess were frigates scream through the shallows so fast I only saw the shadow and a pressure wave for a second or two.

as far as the piers jews, kings and a host of other species are all legit targets.

Id be interested to hear how you go. Ive never bothered because ive always condemmed the harbor for its water quality. The fish somewhat glow in the dark.... Anyway, good luck
