0 GreyNurse
Yeah mate, It's looks for all the world to be a grinner. Next time you get one, pin it through the shoulders and send out as a livie. Nursie

Then again maybe, it is???ScratchieThe story is quite funny. Yesterday I went on a charter, and my mate next to me pulled exactly the same fish up. I quickly glimpsed over and blurted out grinner, then was quickly corrected by the deckhand. Upon closer inspection I did realise that it was in fact, not a grinner. 0 Yowie
Scratchie, not a grinner nor a baker either. Could be a species of grubfish (Parapercis species) Really need a side-on photo for a better I.D.
0 Scratchie
So the answer is????? 1. Grinner 2. Sgt baker 3. Grubfish 4. Other
0 barnzey
A3. Pink-Banded Grubfish. Based on patterns on the nape and snout. A grinner has a shorter snout, an upturned mouth and a shorter dorsal fin (aka one that doesn't run the length of the body/continuous)
0 oziodin
mate I've googled , I sent you some stuff on you mobile , mate I really couldn't say it seams to be a cross between a grinner & sergeant baker. in my view. maybe send the photo to the fisheries and enquire I guess it the last resort , but worth a try as you know it pains when not knowing . tight line mate .
