krause
It most likely was fat, especially cause it floated. Fish in colder water will hold fat stores for insulation. I went to the Murry River in February and saw it for the first time. Ive noticed it since in the ocassional salt water fish, but mostly in bream and salmon. LeoB
G'day It's maybe milt or fish sperm. Was it in long sack extending most of the gut cavity? Generally means he was very close to spawning Cheers Leo
krause
The main difference between the two would be colour. Fat would be dead white, sperm sacs are sort of cream coloured... hards to tell if you havent seen them both. Thats my thoughts. Plus I would think that sperm sacs would sink because they are mostly water and protein. Cheers
