Yowie Posted February 4, 2014 Share Posted February 4, 2014 Fished the deep water off Lilli Pilli at first light. After I anchored up, the wind picked up from the south and made casting a bit difficult as it was blowing across the run out tide. Caught 2 just under size tailor then the bites stopped. Was thinking of moving, but stuck it out and on the bottom of the tide, pulled out the tailor and jewie on pillies. Squid and fish baits were attacked by very small reddies. Pumped some nippers, the wind dropped off, so I walked the flats near the Ballast Heap for the flatties. Was quite a bit of time between bites, and most baits were taken by small whiting. Just casting from the shallow water into the channel. As I was walking about, the wind picked up strongly again from the south which assisted casting. Eventually looked like rain, so headed for home.
