Waiting for the day.

Due to some serious medical problems my last boat fishing trip was well over 12 months ago.

Add the problems that I had finding water in the sealed compartments of my Tournament and the time that it took so find how that was getting in all combined to me having serious withdrawal symptoms.

But things are looking up, my specialist told me last Friday that my heart function is back to normal and I can start to exercise again. Now in my mind launching and retrieving a boat and fishing constitutes "exercise". So as soon as I get my motor serviced (next week) I will be out on the water at least once per week. And the good part is that being semi retired I can do that during the week when all the ramp jockeys are hard at work.

There are some benefits to getting older.

By the way, part of my cardiac problems apparently arose out of my being prescribed "Lyrica" as a pain killer for back pain. Apparently a very very low percentage of the population experiences serious side effect from taking this drug. My "side effect" was a massive increase in fluid retention followed by chronic heart failure. Now that is something that you do not want to experience.

See you on the water soon.

Cheers

Paikea,

I'll tell you what. After next Sunday I am free for 4 months. I'll make a special trip down to take you fishing for the day, if you show me the spots! I'll do all the hardwork, launching, retrieving and working the anchor! If you would like some company that is?

Cheers scratchie!!!

Good to see you are on the mend Paikea. As one of those "RAMP JOCKEYS" I am vey envious.

Just as I tell my old man, don't take your health and spare time for granted, life is there to be lived and there are too many days spent working for the man to not go fishing when u can.

If u need a decky I am sure there is no shortage a guys on this site who would put their hand up. I ll PM u next time I get an rdo and the weather looks ok my boat your spots.

Great to hear you are well on your way to recovering Paikea.

Hope all goes well with the boat and you get stuck into some seriously nice fish.

Looking forward to seeing your upcoming reports and reading some more of those old time fishing stories Paikea!

That's very kind of you Scratchie helping out people good on you

Happy fishing

So a future crew could be Scratchie and Stormy acting as deckies.

Now that is an offer that will be hard to refuse.

The motor gets serviced tomorrow, I have also arranged for the mechanic to take it for a run in the afternoon to run me through the instrumentation and other issues. You free Stormy to come along?

Re the fishing trip I will get my people to contact your people to arrange a date that is ok for all. But first I have to learn how to use my GoPro. Cannot let an auspicious occasion such as this go unrecorded. Anyone teaching using the GoPro? And please don't tell me to read the book, that is like trying to read War and Peace in Russian

Also pleased that some Raiders enjoy the old time fishing stories.

Watch this space.

Cheers

Scratchie can be the decky. I am happy to have my hooks baited, fish cleaned and filleted , anchors pulled and boat washed by someone else :)

Got an airport run tomorrow, H, so can't make it on the boat. Sorry.

Paikea,

As I said, after this Sunday. You tell me where and when and I'm there. I love your stories, your responses to people's posts and your enthusiasm to fishing at your tender young age! The least I could do is take you out fishing and share a joke or two! I have my own gopro and are happy to show you how it works and record our journey!

I know you have had some recent health issues, but if anything you do between now and then, get them biceps and forearms exercised because I plan you have a rod or two very bent!

Look forward to hearing from you!

Cheers scratchie!!!

More than happy to do all the above! But I'm sure I'll get something wrong! Just let me know when!

Hi Jeff & Paika let me know when and if it one of my days off let me know and we can go out in my boat jeff u gt my number would make thinges easier .

Cheers Oziodin :fishing1:

Hey Oziodin do you really think that I would want to go in another boat when I have been waiting 11 month's to take mine out?

But we could arrange to pair up and wander far and wide for a trip. You on for that?

And Scratchie we won't let Stormy think that he is the Skipper, unless he promises to bring the Bundie to have when we get back in.

All sounds like a plan.

Cheers

Now that is really sweetening the pot, how can I refuse an offer like that.

I think that Stormy's left side is the best profile for pics. Very photogenic.

Ah the good life!

Cheers
