jacobaflak
Hey everyone! My Girl Friend got me a $200 BCF Voucher (God bless her soul ) I'll be fishing around Darling Point with family on Saturday night. I usually don't fish that far out (Considering i'm from West) I usually go to Clarke's Point / Drummoyne. With this voucher, i'll be purchasing A proper Live Bait Bucket for my Yabbies New Tackle Box 14lb Mono line What else can i grab? Something that may be handy at Darling Point. Not too sure what gets caught from there, what size fish it produces etc. What hook sizes are good, and can anyone offer some advice on that area? I still want a kingfish! Haha but probably a low chance at that depth & time Any advice at all would be appreciated
rockfisherman
If your fishing with yabbies your obviously targeting smaller fish so I'd go an 8lb mono, lighter equals more hook ups. rockfisherman
Use smaller hooks, you can only hook a big fish with a big hook, but with a small hook you can catch small fish and big fish. From swivel to hook give yourself 1m. Use the smallest swivels you can find. Hose your gear down when you get home and back the drag off.. Learn the uni knot, one of the best knots to know. I'll use Yabbies, and i'll try larger chunks of squid from time to time, incase there's anything with an appetite bigger than the fish that the yabbies are bringing in. I know the basics, but never fished the area.
