Kingy
Where did bananas on boats come from and what is the proper "tale". My mate told me this a few months ago that it was bad luck to take bananas on boats and I told him where to go (I will dutifully now swollow my words) I just saw a post with someone referring to this so it must be semi commmon knowledge?!?!? DOES ANYONE BELIEVE OR FOLLOW THIS BALLONEY??? sgot me fascinated K
Bashir
bananas ripen other fruits if left nearby. long time ago, shiploads of fruit would spoil and the bananas would be fine.

kevvie
No fruit allowed in my boat as well. Don't like to leave anything to chance. Use aniseed soap to wash your hands if you need to mask a foreign smell.
shecomb
I have a no banana policy onboard. In fact, i was going to name my boat NO BANANAS but i thought that could be almost like having a banana onboard perminantly!
