JohnDory
Hi Raiders I have never targeted the illusive Bass before and I thought I would give it a go yesterday in the and it proved to be a successful and soul enlightening morning. A quick 15 minute drive + a 15 minute walk found me in one of Mother nature’s special spots. 3 casts in and I had my first Bass… Wooo Hooo. No size but WHO CARES The next fish made me work for a while and was only a small upgrade @ about 200mm still a nice very healthy Bass. What a day.. A bit of a walk and 30 or 40 flicks later and BANG WHOOSSCA I was smoked. I didn’t get a wind on the reel just lost line to something a lot better to my silly string. Stripped about 15-20Mtrs before reefing me with a bust off. (Shite I was fresh water fishing). That was the last excitement of the day so I chilled taking a few happy snaps and just loved the moment. The weapon was a Kokoda Gold series “The Bat” small, and my Canon EOS 70D. JD
Scratchie
There looks like a few good spots to target bass in there. Unlucky on the beast but he's always there for next time you feel like a walk. Great scenery. Cheers scratchie!!!
fragmeister
Hi JD I know that spot well although I never fished it. Its one of the bush walks my family has done for about 30 years now. I wonder if the fish ladders they installed years ago at the various weirs along the river has allowed Bass to get backup stream after spawning. Anyway... looks like a good sign for the river and well done on catching even a smaller specimen. Great pictures of the Aussie wildflowers too. nbdshroom
Wow, never knew the Georges could look so good. Looks like a magical place to have a flick for bass. That's a nice little collection of photos and well done on your first bass.

Conor_B
Is there any chance of getting a kayak down there. I have went up as far as long point but the rapids and shallow water make it difficult to get up any further.
