Jack trailer up

On the chassis or the spring plates mentioned above.

Avoid the axle as it could bend with the weight of the boat and trailer.

Make sure that you place some added support under the chassis in case the jack slips. When changing wheels I always place the spare under a spot that will keep the hub from hitting the ground if the Jack slips. Then when I remove the flat wheel I place that under the chassis before I take the spare out and put it on the trailer/car.

Never ever trust bricks to hold a car or trailer up, they can crush and come down in a big hurry.

And never put any part of you body under the trailer or car unless it is supported by proper steel jack stands. People have lost limbs (and worse) through placing their legs either side of the wheel hub when trying to jiggle the spare in place. Legless is not a good look!
