batfishing Posted January 25, 2015 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Any one have any luck? We headed out this morning in the Scout Center Console, after the debacle that was Cooks River Ramp! Through Botany heads into what was perfect conditions, a long swell that dropped through the morning, warm and blue water.................no birds, no bait no fish. Trolled out passed Botany Fad, The Peak, The Plonk Hole, Botany Wide Fad, and back, zig zagged through several fish trap floats. Total take, 1 Yellow, 1 Purple.........balloon, picked up with the net after we trolled past each once. Scratchie Posted January 25, 2015 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Same up here Ian. Perfect conditions. Couldnt resist, so I took my little boat out to the fad. Found a heap of traps but didn't turn a reel wide. The islands were ok, with a few bonnies and tailor. Still a nice day to be on the water! Cheers scratchie!!! foulhooked Posted January 25, 2015 Share Posted January 25, 2015 went 3-2-0 off broken bay today. First time chasing marlin as well. Switching to sl12s on all lures for next time. Couldnt find any bait at all though. Was hoping to slow troll some livies to same fuel. Loved seeing the marlin smash the lure about 8 times before hooking up.
