Antenna base and Lead

Hi Guys,i am about to replace GME 27mhz radio with a VHF,can i still use old base and lead and just put a new VHF whip on or do i need to replace base as well

I believe the whole thing need replacing. Ian Bat from road runner is your man. Why replace? Why not just add as an addition? You've got a backup then

road runner did me a good price on a VHF radio and antenna/base.

I've also got a 27mhz as a spare now. I just need to find some time

to get the VHF hooked up
