Generally fish more often.

new species:

1. Jew on soft plastic (the bigger the better)

2. King fish

3. estuary perch on SP

species to improve PB's:

1. flathead on fly

2. bass on anything (want to try one of the dams)

3. fewer grinners :biggrin2:

Techniques:

1: improve SP casting at boat hulls

2: trout on dry fly (prob' wont get a chance though)

Get a digital camera to improve reports a pic tells a 1000 words.

Cheers and hope all meet their dreams

real simple list for me.

i want enough fishing time to be able to eat fish 6 nights a week (gotta keep 1 night free for a big thick steak)

i also want to start getting out of the bay more and try my luck out a bit wider.

throw in another new years eve on the harbour and things will be looking great.

There's 2 islands about 4 miles straight out the front of Rabaul harbour [Pidgeon island] where one side drops vertically into 350 ft of water with the prevailing current pushing hard up against the face - home to some enormous doggies who know every bit of coral in the vicinity. B*stards! - though it wasn't unusual to see locals walking around Rabaul lugging 40kg+ dogtooth over their shoulder on their way to market.

I think the number one thing is to get out and fish more. Experience is king.

1) 30cm plus bream on sp

2) 90cm plus flathead on sp

3) A decent jew on bait or plastic from Newcastle Harbour.

4) Get a fly outfit for saltwater work.

5) Get into some metal spinning off the rocks.

6) More beach fishing over the summer months.

Every other day I come up with something I want to try, or some place I want to go. I'm sure I'm driving the :wife: crazy, especially with the price of fly gear :1yikes: . I'm hoping to expand the tackle selection considerably, get into rod repair by fixing up a few of my old neglected rods (including one for the :wife: ) and one day find myself the proud owner of a boat of some description.

Um, yeah I think that just about covers it. :biggrin2:
