  1. I have a Brooker trailer and had a similar question. I rang Brooker and asked them and was told they use Ford or Holden hubs whatever is cheaper at the time of manufacture. They do however weld an "H" or an "F" on the axle so that you know what was used. Have a look and see if it is marked on the axle. Cheers Trev
  2. Thanks for tips Cheers Trev
  3. Fester, Thanks for the suggestion I had the same idea. My boat already has a bow mount minkotta but it is just a little too slow at top speed for trolling tassie devils. I don't know if the battery I have needs replacing either cause the last two trips to Jindy drained the minkotta battery very quickly when used. I already have the little Honda 4st and bracket so $$ is already spent just after some fitting tips. Cheers Trev
  4. Hi All, Quick question. Has anyone here ever fitted one of those adjustable auxilary motor mounts to their transom? I have a Brooker 450 Safari side console and want to fit a small Honda 4stroke for trolling in lake jyndabyne. The 40hp 2st Yammy gets clogged when idling for long periods in the alpine conditions. I was after suggestions for backing board(inside transom) materials and also if I should put a plate/board between motor bracket and the painted transom to try and prevent rubbing and any potential electrolisis. Anyone with any suggestion What has worked form them or what has not worked/what they would not do again. Cheers Trev
  5. Thanks, I actually found the article myself not long after my original post. Cheers Trev
  6. Guys, I have been asked to go fishing for jewies in a couple of weeks, land based in Woy Woy area. It has been a lot of years since I have actively sought to catch jewies and thus am looking for some tips on rigs baits etc. I have been told that we can catch fresh squid from the area??? but I am not wanting to rely totally on that and so thought some frozen might be worth the go. I also will try and catch yackas and such from nearby wharf for live bait. Can anyone assist in suggested rigs? e.g. should I set one bait down and suspend another under a float? Is it a bit like the elusive hairtail and attracted to chemical lights? How long a trace and what strength? What size hook/s and set up? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers Trev
  7. I have a mate with a 525 osprey cuddy cab' and I have fished out of it several times. He has a 70 or a 90hp can't remember but it motors along. The boat is really stable and handles well and has been a great harbour fishing platform. He has taken it outside heads several times but I have not gone with him (something I need to address) so I can't comment on outside use but again has handled rough days in Sydney Harbour with ease. If I had the money I would buy one. Cheers Trev
  8. Yep, Used to burley up with bread and use bread flies they pull like a sherman tank on 5-6wt rod. Haven't fished there for several years now. Perhaps I shall give it another go. Still won't eat the fish from there though, I assume it is still too risky. Cheers Trev
  9. Good point about the lightness of the rod. I was going to use it mainly for bream and bass on small lures. Although it was light it had incredible power when loaded up. Cheers Trev
  10. This afternoon I was playing with some brand new into the country St Croix spin rods. Not in any shops yet. Hopefully Bass Angler might get some in. A really sexy baitcaster legend elite it was 6' 6"rated at 10-17lbs fuji concept guides. But the one I want to get is the legend tounament walleye spin finesse 4-8lb line all fuji alconite guides. Man I am going to be in so much trouble with the missus cause I gotta get one and I just looked at how much they cost from American sites. But I want one. Don't know when they will be available?? Mick any Idea if Bass Angler are going to stock these? Has anyone bought one from over seas and fished with them? I am going to turn into a tackle slut..... Cheers Trev

    Help

Iceman, The first thing to do is go for a walk arround your area and see what other people have growing and what seems to be surviving and what seems to be dying. Make a list if you know them or take photos to show your plant shop if you don't. Then decide what plants on the thriving list you like and put them in. At least that way you have an idea of what the soil in the area will support. Cheers Trev
  15. Banjo's do get a serve.... A heard of a guy who had one custom built. He wanted it made out of local timbers so he arranged for some guy to make it. This was one really nice instrument to look at. It had beautiful inlays of different Australian hardwoods and the neck was inlayed with opal Any way one day he was going in to the city He had to duck into an auto teller so he just pulled up at the side of the road beside the bank jumped out to get the money and yep you guessed it He didn't lock his car..... Fair dinkum he only had his head turned away from his car for about 3 minutes at the most but it was too late when he got back to his car and looked on the rear seat where he had left his banjo someone had......... LEFT ANOTHER BLOODY BANJO THERE AS WELL
  16. Have been playing musical instruments of some sort for over 30 years. Guitars past now sold or stolen Electric : Ibanez les paul custom, Ibanez Blazer custom built with seymour duncan pickups and fender stock, Ibanez rg520, Ibanez Artist bass, cheap no name fender jazz bass copy (ok sound) Acoustic: 1970's Wayne acoustic (stolen), 1979 Takeharu, cheap as Canora semi accoustic sounded crap accoustic but sound through the pick up and neck action were awsome. Guitars currently owned: Charvel jackson electric and an Ibanez electric/acoustic. Amps: currently have only the two a small peavey backstage 50 and an awsome Mesa Boogie 22 valve, Have had several in the past favourite was a cheap valve head that got reworked and fitted with boogie valves sounded real warm but had heaps of grunt. I still perform on guitar a little. I play in an Irish/celtic band that does festivals and RSL shows ocassionally. But my main love is Brass I have played Trumpet for 27 years Still play a bit of jazz with the Hawkesbury Jazz Club, but mainly play at church. I also play French Horn, Melofone(much the same) Flugel, etc etc any brass keyed instrument.(crap at trombone) 5 Greatest musical memories: 5. My first paying gig, playing with a Latin fusion band Calabash 4. Playing at a youth alive concert in front of 7,000 people at the Hordon Pavillion 3. Playing with the Reels (80's band) at the Kardomah cafe 2. Jamming at the Sydney Con' with James Morrison, his brother and absolute jazz legend Don Burrows and numer 1 is 1. Stop Wading

Rohit, I am heading to Hervey Bay for a week in November (last week of November). My brother lives there and am going to see my new niece Oh and of course do some fishing. Any tips on gear and locations would be good as I haven't been there before and he has only fished twice before. Cheers Trev

    Discrimination Law

Chinaman, You may find that the HR department will not be able to discuss if any other employees have received disciplinary action as this I am sure by law must be confidential. As others have said get a copy of your works code of conduct. Some companies also have a seperate policy for computer use. Check these out and see what they say. I would not wait to see if the senders get a disciplinary warning, I would just write a letter of complaint to your superviser and send cc it to the HR manager. What email program does your work use? Where I work all emails are completely traceable and you can print off who the sender was who the recipients were when they opened the email and when (if) they have deleted the email or forwarded it on. Cheers Trev

  23. I fished the same stretch of water on Monday for abig fat ZERO. Water was the clearest I had ever seen it. There was quite a bit of bait about with lots of small fry swimming in close to shore line. I had on small bream on but dropped it at the edge. I saw fellow Raider Marlin-DC with fishing partner, I don't think they did any good either. Well done on the bream. Cheers Trev
