Tulz Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Spent 3 days on the Clyde River last weekend. Did the usual houseboat trip however didn't have another boat tied up to it like usual which adds some flexibility. Fishing was fairly tough going. Managed a few Bream and a thumping Trevally on the Friday, all falling to Prawns. An hour after the tide turned after dark I managed a nice healthy Jew taken on a fresh slab of Mullet. It gave me a bit of curry on the 12lb set-up but I was able to subdue it and after a pic it was released. I've attached a pic below. Not sure why but the pic loads sideways. Saturday was terrible with nothing landed despite trying numerous spots. Sunday was better with some nice Flathead around the 40-50cm mark which were kept for a feed. Again about and hour after the tide turned after dark 2 rods got absolutley belted, the first i'm sure was a big Jew as there were the unmistakeable big head shakes and 2 very distinct runs. Unfortuantely it was too much for the smaller set-up and it couldn't be slowed. The second I assume was a big ray as it just hit ans ran and didn't look like slowing. Good weekend and I recommend the Houseboat to use as a home base for an assault on the Jewies on the Clyde.
Scratchie Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Nice jewy there tulz! Sounds like an eventful trip for the most part. Gotta love a houseboat. All the luxury and being able to fish at the same time! Cheers scratchie!!!

Tulz Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 Yeah it can be tough at times. They were caught on pillies.
