GreyNurse
Hi Raiders, I came upon this website this morning after watching some doco's on commercial fishing. I won't pass comment. I'll leave that to those Raiders who feel passionate and knowledgeable enough to do so and, perhaps, further enlighten us. Looking forward to the responses. http://fish.gov.au/reports/finfish/temperate_snapper_and_bream/Pages/yellowfin_bream.aspx

seasponge
You hear a lot about the growth rate of yellowfin bream, and +36cm being near the 40yr old mark. Can anyone provide a link to any offical fisheries info to back these growth rates up? Just curious as bream ar eone of my favourites to catch, and eat and I'd like to know a bit more about a species I target .

jtp
https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0005/76181/yfb-factsheet.pdf This is another one but from qld. Looks like from aging from otolith bones some bream can reach 40cm by 15years. Really depends on environment. A lot of age variation based on length alone after they reach maturity. Certainly you can see very old bream at shorter lengths as well.
