darynxbcoupe
Hi All, I have a solas SS prop Rubex NS3 on my FA 115 Yamaha, when I first put it into gear at low rpm it vibrates quite bad...when I put a bit more throttle down it is sweet. Has anyone had this with a propeller before? Cheers daryn
Fab1
That's normally a sure sign that something's out of balance/bent/loose or a manufacturing fault. You don't mention if the prop is new or used.If it's a old prop have you hit something and perhaps bent the prop or the shaft? When things get out of balance they either vibrate worse when increasing rotation or get to a point where the vibration will even out to nothing. Can you change props with a known good one to see if the vibration goes away? Sorry but we need more info on the history that led up to this issue to be more help. Good luck.
darynxbcoupe
This is a new prop, never hit anything as its only got around 20 hours on it.
Foghorn
Check all for looseness?
darynxbcoupe
It is all very tight, I think I might need to ask the supplier
boattart
The guys at Solas provide great service and helped me out tremendously. I'd be giving them a call.
Foghorn
I must admit, they are great props, my outboard came with a alluminium prop, the solas cost about $500 but worth every penny, better speed, lower revs.
