bass in sydney ?

hey im pretty new to fishing i was just wondering where abouts in sydney to catch bass and what bait /lures to use to catch them etc

ive caught all the normal fiah around botany bay but want to start venturing to catch something different

The Nepean river is not a bad place to start. Try using the sites search feature at the top of the page and search under bass.

Yep have caught Bass there before, mostly on topwater lures.

Go down the western side of the nepean across from the log cabin. You can walk for the banks there. Early morning and late arvo, surface lures work good. During the day use deep divers! Being new to it, it's all about trial and error. I use tailor made surface walkers or crank38 shallow and deep divers. Good luck!

I regularly fish the nepean river around the camden area and the river is full of fish, the everage fish would be about 25-30cm but there are some real big girls in the system. I mainly use small divers that range from 38mm to 50mm in size with my favourite colours being greens and browns. Surface fishing goes off when the cicadas are singing especially at dusk, any black cicada lures will normally entice a strike. Do you have a kayak or boat?

Plenty of monster carp around Camden if that's your thing.

Around camden bass is the main target with the others beeing, eels, catfish and as mentioned already, monster carp.

Yeah i got a boat @daniel but last time i went out went land based behind the kayak club off the banks tried deep divers and cicadas for a couple hours and got nothing must be better at camden

going landbased often gives limited access. I have a kayak and with the kayak get 5 times as many bass then i would if i was land based.

how do tinny's go there if I take off at belgenny as only have a boat no kayak...

is it restricted or you guys think it's worth a shot?

Hi rabbitohs boat ramp at belgennys has a locked council boom gate,locked every time i go easy to launch a yak there though.Ive only seen one tinny launched at Camden in recent years a little ten footer on trolley wheels launched at macquarie grove reserve another good yak launch spot.
