markmako
Hi guys I've copped a few scratches to the underneath part of my outboard. Its scratched the bottom of the metal part under the prop a little. Any ideas on whether I should be applying anything on the exposed part where the scratches are? Will it cause any rust? Thanks in advance
Fab1
You can touch it up with paint if you like, but you'll find the Skeg is made of aluminium and won't rust.Theres plenty of outboards around that have a Skeg with missing paint due to driving in shallow water and eroding the paint away with sand. Foghorn
You can use an etch primer and enamel paint, but probably not worth the effort, as snapper said, there are plenty around.
