mattfinn
Hey all, I don't know if this is in the right section but I was wondering if someone could explain to me why the barometer is reading so low at the moment (1013hPa) but it's about 41 here in western Sydney right now? RU537
The wind blows from areas of high pressure to low pressure. We've had a really high pressure system sitting over central and northern Australia and a really low pressure system on the east coast. This has brought a strong North Westerly Wind and the heat with it! Should see the temperature drop tomorrow once the low pressure system heads offshore. mii11x
you can also find that wind in a high pressure system moves downward, outwards and anticlockwise. The opposite applies to a low pressure system.
