NOT HAPPY JAN

Thought I would get out for a couple of hours this morning, the wind was calm at 6:00am when I got up but by 9:30am it was getting a bit uncomfortable so I decided to pack it in. Get back to Swallow Rock boat ramp at about 10:00 and pull the boat up on the sand, there were a couple boats on the pontoon and about 3 other boats on the sand as well. Went and got my truck and pulled the boat out and drove home.Get home and wash the boat and start to pack everything away. That's when I notice there is something different. One of my antennas is missing. When I pulled up at the ramp the boat was unattended for no longer than three minutes and all the boats that were next to me on the sand were pushed out into the water with motors going ready to go out. What really annoys me is that all the boats that were there were expensive boats, I am talking nothing under about $25,000, and some scum bag that has a boat worth that much money can't afford a $50 antenna so they help themselves to mine. Whoever it was, I hope you had a very merry Xmas and I am sure you are going to have a very happy new year now that you can listen to your radio. So a warning to every one, if you are on your own and have to leave the boat to get your car, do a quick check that everything is there before you pull your boat out, while the other boats are still there.

I wouldn't be happy either. A mate had a downrigger stolen from his boat under similar circumstances at Drumoyne a few years back. It is a sad state of affairs when one has to worry about leaving the boat unattended while retrieving the trailer or parking it when heading out.

Thank you very much for that offer squidboy but it was actually my am/fm antenna that they took. I have my old 27mhz that I replaced with a vhf and it is the same base type so I might try that and see if it picks up. It is just handy to have the radio as I normally fish at night and I relax with a couple of rods out the back and the music playing softly in the background.
