The President Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Went out of Botany Bay today looking for marlin, sent out the spread just before the 12mile. Water temp was 24.5, headed towards the shelf water got to 25.5 looked good but no signs of life. Continued past Browns water up to 26.5. Decided to turn around and come in close ads stay around 70 fathoms behind the Peak. Water temp 24.1, well what do you know got two simultaneous hits around 1pm - short corner and short rigger both had black over purple 8 inch lures. One stuck and one didn't. Little stripey put a nice show with plenty of acrobatics, came in relatively easy. Few quick snaps and off it went. Noticed that the bird activity was in close around the 70 fathom than out wide.
NaClH2OK9 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Well done. I think I heard you call it on the radio?? Was out off Newcastle and surprised I could hear Sydney on 21. Either way well done.
rportelli Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Good stuff mate ... I was out from the harbour could only get dollies... Marlin still eluding me!! Did you see the colour change at 125 m... We zig zagged it but no life!! Looks as those need to try closer!
DTROJAN Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Good work! We trolled the shelf line for most of the morning and heard you call it in when we where on on our way back in. We didn't find any bait anywhere along the shelf and couldn't find a fish willing to eat our lures. Did have something hit the teaser very hard …...snapped the clip that holds it and took it for swim.
The President Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 Yes that was us that briefly called it just after we landed it. Next time I'll ask if there's any Raiders out there.
Scent Blazer Lures Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Well done, nice fish. with the way water the is, I don't think you have to venture far.
