boattart
After a busy day Sunday went for a fish Wednesday with high expectations. Demipouce had posted in the Desperate and Boatless so invited him along. We set the gear around 7 am and trolled east and in 66 fm had a bite on the left rigger which took a fair bit of line but then was just dead weight on heavy gear and was extremely surprised to see a Wahoo appear at the boat. After a couple of early morning text messages (thank you Donna for your help) to find out what we needed in the photo for COTM and several quick photos we resumed our trek East but apart from a couple of striped tuna the rest of the day was uneventful dispite beautiful water and quite a bit of bait the Marlin and Mahi eluded us but it was a very pleasant day for a boat ride and got to meet another nice guy through Fishraider and hopefully next time will get him that Marlin he's so keen for. Spearer1
Awesome catch there! We had a quiet day yesterday but for a hook up on a big black at 11am in 145m. Unfortunately it cut us off 300m out. What an experience that was. No dollies for us either.
Ahab
Pretty much the same for me. From port jackson, went to the traps north of 12 mile and tried lures, live bait and fresh striped tuna for zero. Tried a bottom bash with livies and got smashed by leatherjeackets. The razor gang cut up 4 rigs before I called it quits.Trolled further to the shelf and found more traps. Same thing. Trolled north and then back in. No current lines, few birds, blue water but only a few striped tuna to show for it. Water temp went from 25 to 26.4 degrees but no clear breaks. Classic day on the water though. Light nor Easter to come home on. Great day. Cheers Cpt Ahab.

GH1952
We heard about the who being caught and a couple of Marlin For us it was all zeros from the bait station down to Browns and back into 35 fm for nothing From what we heard most of the fish were south of us, but that's fishing. Good to see fishraiders getting into some rare fish for Sydney and they are great eating. There's always next week for us when the weather clears.
