Port Hacking - mixed bag

Fished the deeper water up from Lilli Pilli from first light. The tailor took salted bonito strips on a hand line, no interest on the pillies. After they moved on, a few reddies turned up. 2 just keepers in that lot, and a few only mm's under size. Not as many reddies about now, have thinned out a bit.

A nice sized flounder also on a fish strip. After sun-up, the reddies stopped biting so I tried for some jackets, and pulled up a few. A couple of bite-offs from them, and probably could have caught more, but had enough for a few feeds for my family and for mum, so thought about heading home. The crab grabbed the last strip of fish bait, so it was a bonus.

Krispy, a couple of frigates circled my boat for a few seconds, then gone. No tailor seen jumping about, but obviously they are there somewhere. At this time of year, they sometimes feed a bit deeper.

Jackets get a bad rep for stealing baits and tackle, the trade off being that they're a great feed when you do catch them.

killing it as always in the hacking, i love the water there. just dont love the fish there :'(
