fishn4fun
Hi all, if you need to top up your battery fluid instead of using tap water or going out to buy distilled water use the water that comes out of any air conditioner its free and is just as good as distilled water. The Iceman
Another tip is to use a 60ml syringe to top up the battery
Martin
Good timing because I was just checking my batteries on the weekend and have some questions To what level do you top up your batteries? What happens if you top them up to much? What happens if you use tap water? Can you usr filtered water? What happens if one of the cells goes dry? Advice and comments are greatly welcomed. Cheers
Guest Jocool
This is just my understanding, and I could be wrong! To what level do you top up your batteries? There should be a line along the casing...But normally till you just cover the plates. What happens if you top them up to much? They may boil over and you end up with Batt acid everywhere. What happens if you use tap water? The chemicals will calcify on the lead and make it in-effective Can you usr filtered water? Simple answer...NO What happens if one of the cells goes dry? It dies! fishn4fun
Yeah i find you just put a container under any air conditioner and collect the water in a couple of bottles, also to keep my battery alive while not in use i simply attach a solar panel to the battery at home, it just trickle charges the battery so there is no need to worry about it overcharging and you simply give them a good charge the night before heading out. Bashir
I just have two fully sealed maintenance free delkor batteries, one deep cycle, the other a crank battery - definately reccomend them, they're awesome. No need to worry about fluid levels.
