Yowie
Headed out again early this morning, no small gars about and no tailor. Was rather quiet for a while, thought that it was going to be a waste of time. Eventually a few fish showed up, taken on strips of salted fish bait on the bottom. Burleyed a bit but it just attracted plenty of small reddies, some just under size. Tried small pieces of squid, and the jackets turned up. Took a mate out, and he managed 6 jackets for himself (his fish not in the photo) but that was all he caught. Still he was happy with some jackets, did not want any of my fish, and he had something he could show his wife for his early morning effort. The 2 ganged hooks, look like a suicide pattern, were found in the stomach of the tailor. Some one bitten off again.

Yowie
that flounder is a real bonus The fishing is usually getting a bit quieter at this time, but still a few kicking about. The trevally usually show up in the cooler weather, and the water temp is dropping slowly.
