savit
HI All, Just recently found out about Sydney Boat Show 2016 which should start in a week or so. I miss them all the time. Just wondering what could be of interest for landbased fisho there? I heard they usually sell some fishing tackle at promotional prices. Can I expect some significant discounts? Thank you. hellcorner
Hi savit, I think the best thing to do is to jump on their website, and view the retailers that will be there. I haven't seen anything in regards to landbased fishing as such, but they do have people conducting information sessions on fish etc. that you could employ landbased. The shooters and fishing party had a stand there last year, and they were doing bait rigging demonstrations; which I learned a couple of different techniques. They do also have fishing tackle retailers, but the whole show has been a little on the lean side over the last few years, and that is due to the redevelopment of Darling Harbour. I personally enjoy the show anyway. I hope this helps.
savit
Thanks hellcorner, I saw the website. The list of participants is very large. I have not heard about most of them.Sent from my couch using Tapatalk Edited July 22, 2016 by savit
hellcorner
I've no idea what I'm going to learn there next weekend, but I'll try and come away with something different and new to try.

harold
There is usually 1 or 2 retailers of fishing gear and I always reckon it is mostly the stuff they can't move in the shop.
NaClH2OK9
I went last year. Not a lot of high end gear but stocked up on ss hooks crimps thimbles and beads. If your not interested in boat accessories. Probably not worth it. Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
rickmarlin62
they generally mark down prices on last day so they have less to pack up and take back with them....rick
savit
Thank you, guys. Probably I will go ( IF I decide to go) on the last day. I read earlier on the forums that people were able to grab some reel or rod bargains on the boat shows. However based on your responses I presume it related to the past or was just an exception. locodave
I wouldn't go there for the rods or tackle - go regardless, might start of with a tinny and you won't be a landbased fisho anymore!
