First cast on a fish strip was a 40cm tailor, which was a good start, but that was it for a while, just a few bait stealing small reddies. Was thinking of moving just after sunrise, when a hand line with a squid strip went for a little run. Grabbed the line, the fish headed for the surface and took off in a straight line at speed. It felt like a bull ray at first, then slowed down and I felt a head shake. Managed to retrieve most of the line, then the fish headed back towards the bottom for a short while. Eventually netted a 76cm jewie, and that was it for the day. Have had a couple of jewies over the years, head to the surface and take off at speed in a straight line, not too far under the surface, so you cannot always predict what is on the end of the line. Try sending yourself the picture on facebook and open it on your computer. FB usually compresses it down to a file small enough to upload here.
