finin
Gday all, wow boats galore heading out this morning, not much wind making for a nice run out. Got to the heads and counted 14 boats at the artificial, had a laugh and headed south looking at green water, new something was up as boat was.slowing, current was running uphill. Began in 80M with about 5kn of wind to almost none all day. Current was pushing north at q.ekn spoke to a mate who had 3kn wider. Water is green and 21.8 but still cold on the bottom. Fishing is slow still but they are there. Managed a couple of trag, pigs and two blue spot. Heaps of little lolly slimies around too. Interesting all fish are heavily in roe and most have full stomachs, the fish have been like this for.close to a month now are extremely late in letting go. When they do it there will be some fish about.
Dave3097
Nice report, heard of any action out at the FAD's? Heading out this Friday wondering if its worth the trip or stay in a bit closer.
Ravinggg
We had a quiet day yesterday trolling around 70 fa with absolutely no hits. Plenty of bird and dolphin action but the water is green and cold.
Aeger
Was out there yesterday too with no luck at the fads or the peak. Tried in a bit closer and got 10 of the smallest kings ever as well as a bonito and tailor. Hopefully the water warms up soon!!

Got bad news for you, there's a cold current headed our way by the look of it. There is plenty of fish out there at the moment, lots of dollies being caught. PaddyT
Coldest water around at the moment is about 21C, there is actually an upwelling starting off the coast and it brings all sorts of nutrients to the surface. You can catch kings in 16C water in the middle of winter- not sure why everyone waits till January- mainly rats this time of year
amkr
People wait for the dollies not necessarily the kings.

Dave3097
Finin, Thanks for the update, I'm taking the Boab (hire) Centre Console out for a trip, so Botany Wide I think is just a little to far out (15NM limit), plus taking a few green mates and the Mrs out for the day. Do hope to get some warm water and give one of them a workout and a feed. Depending on the weather thinking I'll try (with the crowds) Sydney (19)FAD, and let the fish and conditions decide from there, probably north for there direction. Will post a report post event.
