GoingFishing
Hi All I am not looking for recommendations, so moderators put down your pitchforks !!! Haha I have always fantasized that i would operate a charter for a living and whilst bored the other night I did some reading about fishing charter licencing. From what i have gathered, it is not possible to apply for a fishing charter licence, rather you would have to purchase one from another operator who is no longer wanting to operate... and apparently it has been this way since 2000. Now obviously we dont want 99999 charters operating, and there is a need to regulate the industry. I am confused however how the Australian Government would consider giving licences to say Supertrawlers..... but not a new charter operator ? So the question is... for those who have some knowledge on the issue, what is the rationale behind this decision??? Just curious Edited June 2, 2017 by GoingFishing
