Leader on lures

Hey guys, yesterday I headed down to a shop and picked  two lures for a good bargain (HB) Do I need mono/fluorocarbon leader? I'm using braid for mainline. I have heard it affects the action. Maybe I should use an FG knot or double uni. Thanks guys

Yes. Without leader - the braid can be easily caught by lure hooks during the lure casting/retrieving and it will impact/destroy the lure action. For light top water lures - I would use mono leader , and fluoro - for the rest of lures. The benefit of leaders are also - resistance to fish teeth, shock absorption, lesser visibility in water. Fluoro leaders are more expensive, heavier and more abrasion resistant , less visible in the water, while mono leaders - cheaper, usually softer, more shock absorption and lighter.
