Manning Valley

Hi,

I was after some inside info on fishing the Manning Valley Area. I will be staying there over the xmas and new years period in one of the caravan parks at old bar and wanted to know if anybody knows how the place fishes in this period, what usually bites around this time and what options there are when fishing the area in general.

I know there is a little breakwall there....How deep is it ? What type of gear is needed to fish it, shall i bring small spin sticks and concentrate on fishing the river or hall up the heavy gear and fish the beaches, rocks and breakwall. I really dont have a clue as to what fishing options are available to me, i know that the beaches will hold a mixed variety of species , i will be landbased and have a 4WD and will be fishing for 7 days whilst the misses enjoys the sun
