Brew
Hi All, I was walking past an op shop the other day and a couple of rods caught my eye. Not sure if I needed them however I couldn't help myself. 3 rods - 2 x Penn Ultimate Baitcaster 5'6" and 1 x Rovex Aluma 5'6" 3 reels - 2 x Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6501C3 and 1 x Abu Garcia 5500C The two 6501C3 were loaded up with near new braid the 5500C with mono. Both reels and rods seemed in reasonable condition. I hear they are pretty indestructable. Here are some picks. I'm ok with the left wind on the 6501C3 Bought for $210 all up. Question is - good buy or bad buy and has anyone had experience with these reels? Do they last?
Scratchie
Never a bad buy having more fishing gear!
frankS
I would say you paid an appropriate price for some 2nd hand equipment neither a good buy OR a bad buy, It's always good if you need that particular gear but if it's just surplus stock then the money may have been better spent elsewhere. I have a couple of abu's and they are good honest reels. Frank Edited December 8, 2017 by frankS
Berleyguts
I would have paid that for the reels alone, if they were in good condition and I needed them.
