Foxxy
Hey guys, new to the forum and new to the area. Going to be fishing Parramatta River around Rhodes/Ryde area, probably setting up late arvo for a landbased night session. Just want a bit of advice on what can be found in Parramatta River. Have the lighter gear for the bream and flatties but is there anything else around at the moment? Have 20lb braid spooled on a reel that's never been used and want to try my luck. Any tips on what to target or bait suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers!
Lungfai76
Mainly bread and butter trio aka Bream, Flathead, and whiting. Sometimes a baby jew will give you some fun or if you're lucky a soapie.
Foxxy
Thanks, will bait soak the heavier rod whilst flicking for the others.
JimC
Please do not eat fish caught west of the Sydney Harbour bridge. The river has been toxic for years with chemical runoff. It is cleaner now but it is advised to throw the fish back.
robrooster
Theres some decent sized Bream and Flathead under the Silverwater Bridge. Pilchard cubes on a paternoster rig would probs work. On lowish tide, they hug the pylons. Make sure you look out for fish restrictions around Parramatta River.
Foxxy
Cheers guys, caught a lot of tailor and bream, the largest one being around 35cm. A mate even hooked into a decent crab that was unfortunately dropped before landing. Well aware they're not to be eaten this side of the bridge so they all went back to swim another day. Thanks again!
