chokpa
Hi Guys, Wanted to clarify something. Is it legal to fish hyams beach or is it within the sanctuary zone? I see a few reports from there but the DPI chart *looks* like its a sanctuary zone? But it might be also suggesting that its okay to fish from the shore? I see a tiny sliver of non-pink https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0004/683626/Map-jervis-bay.pdf Cheers
Ryder
It's Habitat Protection Zone along the beach. Landbased fishing is OK.
Green Hornet
Its legal to fish from high water mark to 100m out from the north end of Chinamans Beach, south to the grey area in the map above. You are allowed to do everything as in a normal habitat protection zone except spear fishing. I live in Hyams and see people fish it all the time from both the shore and kayaks. Mainly squid around the rocks and a few bream and whiting from the beaches. Edited May 27, 2018 by Green Hornet
