Just need some advice,wanting to know if it’s legal to fish the little beach in Hermit Bay along the hermitage foreshore walk n if so are the fish safe to eat.Also if legal is it worth fishing.

Nothing showing on the FishSmart NSW app about it being restricted so I would say that it’s ok to fish there unless there is local signage.

any fish caught there would be fine to eat as it’s East of the Harbour Bridge and close to the heads.

Check out fishing reports from Rose Bay which is nearby for any tips about fishingbthe area.

I have not fished the beach itself but the dilapidated wharf still fishes ok for blackfish as it is on the edge of a weed patch.

I caught my best ever blackfish there albeit a long time ago and although I didn't measure it was an absolute monster.

The wharf is a lot less fishable now as it is mostly gone but the deeper water put from the wharf and in amongst the moorings holds bream and whiting.
