Anglers Omnibus

I was first given a copy when I was about 12 in the late 70s, at the time it was my favourite read. Over 500 pages, more than 50 chapters covering tackle, techniques, targeting species and much much more.

Today I found a very early copy at Rozelle market for a couple of dollars. It's only 180 pages, so it's not nearly as detailed. Some things are the same, like the chapter on Mounting your catch, I wonder how many of us have tried that.?

Some of the adds in the front of the book might bring back memories for older Raiders, and for the younger ; in the 50s and 60s phone  numbers used to start with letters.IMG_2331.thumb.JPG.3e771926b01ec7b723bcfd00917637f4.JPGIMG_2333.thumb.JPG.8c476594e3baf3057687457dab7c00b7.JPGIMG_2334.thumb.JPG.9de2f6958813574a2c0a699673ccd4ca.JPGIMG_2335.thumb.JPG.1752d5886da56559b833770405c7395a.JPGIMG_2336.thumb.JPG.69bd447e3dff9ee604cbfddcec995a64.JPG

Great read. Brings back memories. I remember Sil Rohu in Elizabeth St.

Also gone are the days at Watsons Bay when they use to weigh the Sharks at the weigh in on Sunday afternoons.
