0 Prowling_Tiger
I'm quite confident that the fish is a pink-banded grubfish (Parapercis nebulosa). At first glance, it does look like a lizardfish, but the continuous dorsal fin and bright blue stripes around the head are the telltale signs.

0 Blackfish
Never tried one myself but its part of a Family that includes Sergeant Baker and from what I have heard they have a lot of bones.
0 Blackfish
Hey Marg, do you have any other photos of the fish.
0 Yowie
Marg, You also need side-on photos, it makes for easier I.D. of unusual species. The lizardfish I caught and ate a couple of years ago was a bit bony and had a different taste to most other fish I have eaten. It was fairly edible, but would not make it a favourite fish.
