noelm
At times they will eat any weed, including cabbage, but at other times they are very fussy, caught plenty on cabbage in Lake Illawarra and Minnamurra.

macman
It works more frequently than you would think in the estuary, you should be able to gather string weed and cabbage at Turrimetta which is only just around the corner from the front of the lake. I've caught plenty of fish on cabbage well up the Parramatta River, and other places when string weed has been scarce. Matt
New Signing
Dont be frightened to use pink nippers as well. Most of my better blackfish over the years have come on pink and green nippers. The added bonus' to those are the bream, flathead, trevally etc The downside is the fortesques and toads lol

As Macman said cabbage is fine inside. If no long weed at Turrimetta, Mona Vale pool usually has great weed as long as the council hasn't just been there to poison it off for swimmers safety
