Swansea Channel closed to boaters for urgent bridge repairs

 

Boaters are advised there will be no access beneath the Swansea Bridge from 9am tomorrow for urgent bridge repairs.

 This follows the bridge being stuck in the open position yesterday.

 Divers will be in the water carrying out repairs from 9am and access between Lake Macquarie and offshore will be blocked until further notice.

 Marine Rescue NSW will issue advice when access beneath the bridge is reopened.

 Those travelling between Lake Macquarie and offshore will be required to delay their trip.

 Boaters should follow the directions of all signs, including block channel markers.

 Boaters should remember to log on with their local Marine Rescue radio base, via VHF Radio or 27 Meg.
