solarbear88
Would like to take my son fishing for the first time. I am pretty unfamiliar with fishing in Australia. I live in Bathurst and we have just got a half decent tinny. Any place I could take him within a few hours drive where he could catch some fish? October/November is the best time to target them. 30 percent there is fine, live yabbies around any trees you can find 👍

solarbear88
Took my son there on Friday and we had no luck. Any good guides for this lake? Fishing strategies a 10 year old inexperienced fisherman could use? I am very unfamiliar with fishing in Australia.
T_Bert83
Hi @solarbear88 there are plenty of fishing options around the Bathurst area. I don't know of any guides in the area but I live in Orange and fish the area a lot and would be happy to show you a few techniques/ spots that I know. Send me a PM if you're interested. Cheers, Trav
frankS
A few of us old blokes are going to be there 24th-28th Oct and would be pleased to have you tag along with us OR even we could give you some guidance on what gear to use and a few different technics to try. I will have extra rods etc with me and IF you are not using appropriate gear I could lend you the right stuff to get you started, actual spots within the lake I have to learn myself as this will be my first time here, but with some luck we will have some guys there that know the spots. rickmarlin62
Windamere seems to have a theme of 4 to 7 mtrs of water dark Sps or vibes worked slow.....purple hardbodies round rock or tree structure or yabbies fished amongst sunken timber....im trying to free myself up for end of month with neil and others and will gladly help.....rick
