Mullet at One Mile

Rummers

Recommended Posts

Thanks to everybody who gave me some advice on Port Stephens locations.

went for a quick flick of some lures at OneMile beach this morning. About an hour either side of the high tide.

There was a big school of mullet (fun to catch on light gear IMO). That I was sight casting with little halco twisties. All caught and released to fight another day. All up about 7 caught.

now to find some Tailor/Salmon

Well done Rummers.

More that likely if there were mullet around there was probably something bigger not far away getting ready for a feed.

Not sure if your aware of this one but another  thing to keep checking

Apart from the reports there are some really good articles & tips in there!

Thanks mate! I do read those reports.

What’s hanging around that’ll eat those mullet? Jew?
I have live baited them in the past up north for Sharks but that’s about it.

Good stuff! Did the mullet actually hit the lure? I didn’t think they were too interested in feeding. 🤔 I fished right amongst them at Fingal the other evening. I was targeting whiting, though.

I caught 5 and one of them was foul hooked. I could see them in the surf and they only really bothered with the lure if it went right infront of their nose.
