JamesCBR Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Hey guys, Wanting to take my young bloke for a weekend trout fishing. Just wondering what might be the best option out of these two dams? Will be shore based, spinning lures and soft plastics and bait fishing if we get bored with that. Bass or redfin are welcome bycatch but the main target are trout. Is there much bank you can legally walk at Wallace? I will be camping either at the dam or at a property close by, if its worth having a bait out at night I will probably camp at the dam. Have never had a fish in either dams so just wondering if one fishes better than the other. Cheers for any tips, James
Renegade460 Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Lake Lyell is essentially a caravan park. Access around the lake on foot is fairly restricted from memory. Wallace lake is a free camp with better access around the lake, plus motor boating is prohibited. 1
