Pickles
Fellow Raider “@hadz” (see pic) and I hit the harbour Saturday morning (early as usual) to chase Kingies and Jews knowing that the weather was going to be unpleasant. The wind was SSW and about 20kn and swell about 2m. Yakkas were very finicky and it took about an hour to get 20 or so, but squid were easy, so we were set with bait. The challenge was to get to spots where there were no pickers, but still harboured our target species. The current, temperature (24.6), tides and moon were perfect for both kings and Mulloway, but wind and chop were not. Never the less we had a successful day. No big fish, but it’s better than mowing the lawns. Edited March 7, 2021 by Pickles
Pickles
Stick with it Dave and it will come - anywhere there is bait, there will be kings, trick is, to get them to bite. Send a msg next time you’re heading out and I’ll check tide and moon and suggest some spots as not all haunts are good “all day long”
