Alvey Parts

Hi all

I recently dropped my alvey and broke one of my handles can anyone recommend a Sydney retailer that can get the part for me. I'm after the R4F2 handle assembly (handle and bolt)

You can look up your nearest retailer on Alvey's website. Either that or you can order the part direct from Alvey, though postage might be almost the same as the cost of the parts. I think their minimum post is about $10, but not sure.

Any decent tackle shop can help you out, a proper shop I mean, not the big department store type.

thanks yeah I tried online with Alvey but the online portal stated they don't deliver to NSW, will try directly via phone cheers

Which handle is it ?.

Top OR bottom. If you sent me the other handle and bolt which is not broken ( I assume the reel had 2 handles ? ) I could make you one to suit . That is IF you have no luck buying one from a sparts supplier.

Might take a couple of days . Send me PM if you want me to do it. Cost will be just postage via normal postage + bubble bag.

Thanks Frank appreciate the offer the model is a 500B and the handle looks like the bottom picture, my handle is actually fine the bolt snap from the thread I had to drill out the remaining brass bolt I'm not sure if you can buy such bolt from bunnings. The bolt screws into the base of the reel

That's weird because I've bought reels and parts from their website before, no problem.

Call or send them an email if you get stuck.

You will never buy a specialised bolt like that at Bunnings (why are we brainwashed to go to Bunnings) I also have never had problems with Alvey parts, but your local tackle shop could order one for you, give them a try, you might be surprised and make some new friends.

Just went through the whole process and they say right at the end they don’t ship to NSW- I have purchased parts from them before and didn’t have a problem but back then I would have called them .

I see you are from the inner west , try Drummoyne bait on  tackle on Lyons rd , they are an Alvey distributor . I would call Alvey direct first as they may do it over the phone for you and it would be nice to know why their website won’t let you order parts into NSW .

The last handle I broke I made a new screw from stainless and never looked back .

Just a quick update as suggested by some fellow fishraider members I reached out directly to Alvey today and ordered the parts for my reel . Thank you to all who posted comments cheers
