Anyone know of species prevalent in wollongong harbour down to port kembla harbour land based?

Caught squid, salmon and rat kings in wollongong harbour, but only fished their twice.

I've heard there's some good whiting on the beaches at the moment. 

Good, fresh bait (preferably worms) are getting the better fish.

Dozens of places to fish, a lot depends on your effort, if you want to turn up at lunch time, with a chair and an easily accessible location with a packet of frozen prawns, then your catch will be a bit lean, but in the less fished harder to get to  locations will see you get a few fish, Whiting are going OK on Port Kembla beach, Flathead in the lake channel, the strong NE wind at the moment makes things a bit difficult though, get out early before it gets up too strong.

Just to add, I got a couple of nice Bream just on daylight at the entrance to "Little Lake" on live Nippers a couple of days ago, before all the swimmers turned up.

Thanks, usually fish beaches and have done alright on whiting, even caught a few on cut pillies, which i thought was random.
