mrsswordfisherman
Copied from Starlo’s Fishtopia So smart! Purpose-built kayak launch and recovery ramps on backwaters and billabongs of the Murray near Mildura. Fitted with rollers, these hinged mechanisms allow easy deployment of canoes and kayaks. When you return, simply paddle or pedal the nose of your yak up onto the ramp, which partially submerges under the weight. Pull yourself forward with the hand rails and your kayak slides forward and begins to lift from the water. Even older, younger, more frail and disabled kayakers can use these. I’d like to see them rolled out widely, right across the country. Wouldn’t work everywhere, of course, but where they can they’d be brilliant.
