shimano anti reverse

hey raiders

i have a shimano fx2500 reel and a while back the anti reverse stopped working at the time i tried to fix it but ended up with it sitting in a bag for about a year. i brought it out today and am asking for some help

Could you upload some more pics. Looks like the spring is out through. From memory there should be a notch and a little slot. I've circled the parts I'm talking about.

Try looking on Internet for exploded view of reel as it will show parts and correct order to assemble.  Ron

To add to the good information above, ensure the anti reverse needle bearings aren’t over lubricated. Anything more than a very light smear of fine oil will see it fail.
